::::: RATS FUTURE SECURE IN LITTLE HANDS :::::

The RATS were not the only winners on Saturday with the WARRINGAH JUNIORS having a bundle of fun on JUNIORS DAY. Players from the seven WJRU clubs – COLLAROY COUGARS, DEE WHY LIONS, NARRABEEN TIGERS, NEWPORT BREAKERS, PITTWATER DOLPHINS, TERRY HILLS WOLVES and WAKEHURST JUNIORS – descended on RAT PARK.

Proudly wearing their club colours, they put their skills on display with pass the ball competitions, an inter club relay at half-time and two exhibition matches between NEWPORT BREAKERS / DEE WHY LIONS and COLLAROY COUGARS / NARRABEEN TIGERS as the curtain raiser to the 1st XV match.

Joining the RAT mascot on field was none other than NSWRU's wonder boy himself, TahMan who took time out of his busy S-15 schedule to drop into RAT PARK and mingle with the crowds and meet the kids. NARRABEEN TIGERS won the inaugural FRESHSTART inter-club relay, receiving $500 from RATS sponsor FRESHSTART. Adding to the excitement, 15 kids from each of the WJRU clubs were chosen to lead the 1st XV onto the field in front of a welcoming home crowd and ABC-TV viewers.

Fittingly, the senior RATS players in all grades – even COLTS over at Latham Park and the RATETTES who played under lights later in the evening – wore the socks of their Junior clubs.

One thing is certain – after Saturday we are fairly confident the future of the RATS looks pretty solid. For images from JUNIORS DAY you can flick through the album on our supporters page!
