Now an Olympic Sport
In 2016, Rugby 7s was played at the Olympics for the first time.
The Australian Women’s team, won the gold medal while the Australian Men’s 7s team also put in a commendable performance. Their combined success at international level has increased interest and participation in Rugby 7s.
Rugby 7s is a unique, faster, modified 15s rugby game that allows for a quick outcome finishing in just 14 minutes of play. Sydney Rugby Union has seen the number of players enjoying this game sky rocket in the last few years.
As the name implies, there are only 7 players per team on the field at any one time. The game is fast and exciting and played by all ages and abilities.

Competitions
The number of competitions available for Boys and Girls to play Rugby Sevens in Sydney grows every season. As well as opportunity to play in regional tournaments and against touring teams.
Frosty Sevens

The Frosty Sevens Competition runs in July/August on a Saturday evening and is open to Girls for U10 – U17.
State Championships
OctoberState Championships
Warringah selects U13, U15 and U17 Boys and Girls teams to compete in the State Championships held at Forster in October.
In 2019 19 Collaroy players were selected to represent Warringah.
Spring Sevens
October/NovemberSpring Sevens
The Spring Sevens Competition runs in Oct/Nov and is open to both Boys (play Sunday) and Girls (play Saturday) from U10 to U17.
