Further COVID Update From NSW Juniors:

Folks – as you have probably seen in the Press already, COVID-19 has caused the State Gov’t to instil harsher restriction on us all.

As such ALL Juniors matches, training are to be cancelled for this weekend.

Furthermore trainings and any matches planned before and up to Friday 2nd July are impacted also – Please see attached NSWRU Risk Mitigation document for your to follow

RISK MITIGATION STRATEGY

Rugby across NSW has already taken a number of steps to mitigate the risk of community transmission of COVID-19. These are in line with Public Health Orders, NSW Health and Office of Sport recommendations plus our own additional measures and that of Rugby Australia.

Based on the NSW Government’s announcement today that there has been an increase in the number of community transmitted COVID cases and with their decision to lockdown four Local Government Areas – Waverley, Randwick, Woollahra and Sydney – NSWRU is advising all affiliates and their respective clubs and teams to not proceed with any scheduled games in the Sydney Metropolitan region up to and including Midnight Friday 2 July.

As this is a rapidly developing situation it is not clear how this will affect club trainings or future weeks matches. We will circulate further advice as this comes to hand.

Competitions outside of the Sydney Metropolitan area may continue as planned abiding by the current Public Health Orders and a Club’s own COVID safety plans.

NEXT WEEKEND – 3rd & 4th July (incl U10/U11 State Gala, NSW Invitational)- We will gather more information as it comes to hand and will hopefully be in a position to make a more educated decision on rugby activities on this weekend next TUESDAY.
