We came to the ground questioning our recent results and commitment to being a force in this competition. Here is how we faired!

Chatswood came out firing with loads of possession in the first ten minutes. Our tackle count was way up with Luke, George, Jai & Caid taking most of the brunt of the attack in the first half. Plenty of tight rucks and metres were made with strong runs from Ollie and Paddy setting up good field position. A back line move out wide and Mitchell Gilligan’s allusive side step tricked the opposition to go over in the corner, with a super tough conversion kick missed.

14th Minute: Collaroy 5 – Chatswood nil

Chatswood continued to get plenty of ball and moved toward our line with their good play, eventually crashing through our soft defence on the line to let the big 80kg forward over, who scored under the posts – converted goal.

19th Minute: Chatswood 7 – Collaroy 5

Half time talk meant alot! (Coach Al using his croaky voice) blew up at our players yelling “do you want to win?”.
A deep kick off and miles of pressure from Ben, Sean and Markus on the opposition kept Chatswood in their 25. Our excellent formed back line, quick passing from Curtis feeding the ball to Paddy, Wilson, Mitch and then onto Flynn made steady forward progress. Strong continued passes moved us close to their line as Paddy was put into a gap and scored near the posts – converted by Dean.

26th Minute: Collaroy 12 – Chatswood 7

Curtis continued to make his mark on the game in absolutely everything attack and defence. Kai, Sean and Marcus played a leading roll in the second half with spirited hard, straight running. Chatswood’s tough wall of defence broke once when we were near the line as Marcus busted three defenders to brilliantly score the match winning try – Dean converted.

34th Minute: Collaroy 19 – Chatswood 5

Bruised and battered Marcus took a well earned rest for the last five minutes. Despite small breaks out wide Mitchell W, Ollie and Wilson wouldn’t l et them pass our defensive line!

The whistle blew and we faired as we should with a well deserved win!!!!
