Jimmy and Monique Aschner became the new owners of Asch’s IGA Xpress at Collaroy Beach on December 9, 2013. They both leave the corporate environment where Jimmy worked as a Key Account manager at Tabcorp and Monique a Sales & Education executive at Estée Lauder. They were inspired to move into the grocery business by Monique’s family who were successful supermarket operators in New Zealand and then utilise their experience in running the IGA.
Jimmy and Monique, and their 9 month old daughter Valencia, have moved into Collaroy from the Eastern Suburbs, and have been impressed by the warmth and friendliness in area. Their aim is to build on this culture within their store and create a positive customer experience every time someone walks into the shop. They have embraced the local community and sponsor The Collaroy Cougars, The Collaroy Surf Club and Collaroy Plateau Public School. They feel strongly about the growth and development of sport and education with our youth, and the families that give up their time to be involved.
Asch’s IGA Xpress Collaroy boasts fresh meat, fruit and veg, fresh bread, a deli featuring fresh salads and meals supplied by local and gourmet businesses, as well as a takeaway coffee kiosk manned by trained and friendly staff. They are located across the road from Collaroy Beach and welcome all into the shop. Monique and Jimmy work full-time in and on the business, and are looking forward to being active contributors to the local community, so make sure you say hi next time you visit.
