Unfortunately we have had some changes to this weekends planned Rugby Schedule due to the new COVID-19 restrictions.
The Positive Rugby Foundation NSWJRU Regionals Tournament has been changed
🏉The Committee resolved that NSW Country teams should not travel to Metropolitan Sydney – with NSW Country Squads involving such a spread of players from across all corners of regional NSW the risks outweighed the benefits (as most NSW Country teams have already been selected anyway).
o NSW Country U14 and U15’s will now hold a selection event somewhere in the bush in the next few weeks
🏉SJRU teams already in Metro Sydney will compete in these selection trials over a reduced window of only 1 day (Sat 26th)
It has also meant some other Junior Rugby events have been affected – all of which involved players travelling from all over the State into Metropolitan Sydney & from the 7 x LGA’s under restrictions.
🏉GEN BLUE Academy games due to be played in Qld on Saturday have been cancelled – they played an internal game yesterday
🏉U18 NSW Juniors & NSW Barbarians tour to ACT has been cancelled
o Also cancelled has been the Plan B game between NSW Juniors & NSW Barbarians due on Sunday 27th
🏉U18 NSW Schools I vs NSW Schools II game for Thursday 1st July has been cancelled
Events for the weekend of the 3rd & 4th of July are still scheduled to go ahead – we will review the COVID situation and advice from Govt & the Dept of Sport early next week.
IMPORTANT – Advice from SERVICE NSW is that spectators are required to wear masks on the sidelines of Community Sport 😷
