::::: RATS PREPARE TO BATTLE MARLINS FOR BAYFIELD CUP ::::

It's finally here. The clash everyone's been waiting for as the RATS welcome the Marlins to the fortress of RAT PARK to settle some scores. And already this battle is shaping up to be massive. There is a lot at stake this weekend – the BAYFIELD CUP and the RATS will be out to reclaim their 2nd place on the Magners Shute Shield ladder. This clash is quite appropriately the ABC-TV Match of the Day!

The Marlins backed up their shock loss against Easts a fortnight ago with a solid and convincing victory against Randwick last Saturday. And they are sure to be strengthened by the return of Captain Ed Gower, who takes the field for the first time since his suspension some weeks ago.

The RATS meanwhile have been knuckling down and putting in the extra hours this week after their shock drubbing by Souths last Saturday. They will need to step it up against an even tougher Marlins side if they want this victory. You can count on the RATS to pull out all stops to ensure that the BAYFIELD CUP remains at RAT PARK this 50th year.

This weekend is a massive one with 8 MATCHES being fought on the Main and front fields. Please note that NEW TIMES for games this weekend with 4th Grade kicking off the day EARLY at 9.20AM on the Main field. COLTS 3rds will start proceedings on the FRONT FIELD at 10.45am and the RATETTES will take the FRONT FIELD at 1.25pm for their clash against Waverly.

This week's curtain raiser on the MAIN FIELD at 1.25pm will be the COLTS 1sts leading into the big one – the BAYFIELD CUP kicking off at 3.10pm.

The healthy canteen, Elly Bennett Bar and Roaming Cafe will all be open for business early and please join us afterwards in the Club house for what is sure to be a huge POST MATCH FUNCTION. The LIVE band is back to entertain us again, the BBQ will be fired up and we've stocked the bar with all your favourite beverages. What's not to love.

Don't miss the action this weekend as the RATS take on table toppers Manly. Its a rivalry that's been fought since the birth of the Club 50 years ago and one that will prove one of the best games of Season 2014. Without a doubt.

SEE YOU ALL AT RAT PARK. RATS v MARLINS. DON'T MISS IT.
